A gathering of friendsOn Saturday October 12 2002, old players from the now defunct game The 4th Prophecy reunite online in The 4th Coming's Grapevine server to honour the memory of Eliza Bragwin, who recently had lost her battle to cancer in real life. It has been nearly five months since all servers for The 4th Prophecy were closed. Since then, many players have dispersed to several servers of The 4th Coming. (This is essentially the same game as The 4th Prophecy but each server is run by a different Internet Service providers whereas T4P was hosted by Vircom itself.) Many players found a new home there and lived many new adventures; some even created a new identity. Others decided to leave the world of Althea for good for various reasons. But on this occasion, following the call of Ashleigh to meet in T4C's Grapevine server, many decided to come out of retirement. Some who players on a different T4C server created accounts on Grapevine specifically for this meeting and others, such as myself, couldn't make it but wished they could have… What follows is a transcript of the ceremony, thanks to Ashleigh. It has been edited for clarity, relevancy and typos - but in keeping with the "feeling" of a chat environment. NOTE: Bowhunter DT and Winnowill are two GMs from T4C's

Bowhunter DT: It was very sad news and my heart sank when I heard , please accept my most sincere condolences Amy: my aunt had a lot of friends here. Ronbert: She sure did! Ashleigh: Many others send their sympathy, Amy... Ashleigh: Albertus, Nohaaj, Mirve, Hiburp, Mrs. Hiburp, Saruman Amy: thank you Ashleigh, I know you and her were very close. Ashleigh: I would like to welcome everyone Ashleigh: on this sad occasion and am happy to see so many people who knew and were friends with Eliza Bragwin Ashleigh: and introduce Amy, Eliza's niece. Ronbert: Put your pants on Deuce :) Ashleigh: I'd like to begin with a moment of silence as we remember our dear Elf. Deuce: lol, I junked them....sorry Starrs mule 1: wow a lot of people Ashleigh: thank you everyone Torel will take over from here Torel: We are gathered here today to honor the memory of Eliza Bragwin PORT Torel: She was a very unique and special person, but never thought her self as such Torel: She was caring and considerate, always willing to help others, and never asked for anything in return Torel: she had an inner strength and a drive that would never let her give on anything she started Torel: and was always modest about her accomplishments Torel: she would always go out of her way and greet everyone she knew and give them a smile Torel: Always willing to forgive and forget, and never linger on little annoyances Torel: She endured everything life threw at her, never complained, but somehow still managed to smile Torel: A spirit such as her is a rare and beautiful thing and very hard to find Irksynka deLug: *cries* Torel: Her passing will be felt for a long time by her family and friends, and especially by me. Torel: she held a special place in my heart Ashleigh: *hugs Torel* Torel: Farewell my love, your with God now and can do all the little things you wanted but couldn’t do before Torel: afk Slug II: Thank you, Torel. Shadow Starr: o ok Irksynka deLug: and how happy she was to see people were happy about it Ronbert: Eliza has such a strong spirit that could reach out across 1000's of miles and through a fantasy world to bring warmth into mine and many other hearts. Ashleigh: Amen Ron Irksynka deLug: sorry I don’t have words enough, especially in English, but she was Smiling Eliza, we miss her Ashleigh: The thing that I remember the most was the night I sold Torel Winnowill: I didn't know Eliza as well as most of you nor nearly as well as I would have liked but she was an awesome individual and I am really grateful I did get to know her a little bit and I will really miss her Ashleigh: *nod Winnowill* Ashleigh: the night I sold Torel was a joke, of course, but Eliza bid on him and won him for 700 gold Slug II: She was one of the good friends I was always happy to see each night. Ashleigh: (she never did pay me!) Winnowill pages you: I paid you manna prisms for him and never got him :P Deuce: :) Seeing Eliza always made me happier somehow Ashleigh: *nod nod* Irksynka deLug: yes Amy: may I say something? Torel: please do Ashleigh: please Amy :) Winnowill: please :) Irksynka deLug: she was able to give her wonderful smile to all Ronbert: I remember that I always knew when she was online as she was always helping or encouraging someone. :) Deuce: go ahead amy Amy: from a personal view, I have seen my aunt playing this game a lot of times. I would walk past her room and the sounds that came out of here. The laughs, the crys, the yelling she did. Amy: I know she loved you all very much, she told me that many times when I would ask her why she liked this game so much. Amy: she would say, the People Amy, they are my friends and I have such fun with them. Amy: may she rest in peace now, and I hope you will all remember her.
