Final Event :: Ascent and Equinox ::
The 5th Coming : The fall of Humanity!!!
All the mystics and astronomers from the Alliance of Arcane Knowledge agree that the dreaded 5th coming of the Harbinger is set to happen today, Thursday May 16, at 7 pm EST. He will come at last, deliver his ruthless judgment and seal humanity's fate!

Armies of undead running amok and Makrsh P'Tangh himself freed from his prison and roaming the land are but just a few plagues to expect during that day, as the hour of the apocalypse approaches. This is a day of reckoning that no one should miss!

Brotherhood Headquarters now accessible! Will you find them all?
As a parting gift, we’ve scattered portals leading to all 9 secret brotherhood headquarters around Arakas.

Most portals should be easy to find, but take note that the portal leading to the hidden forest of Koldaerian’s Clan of Hunter is lost somewhere in the wilderness and very hard to find. You will also find fierce creatures lurking in this hidden forest. Those who have not managed to reached the isle of Stoneheim yet should be extra careful and avoid contact with these dangerous beasts.

To everyone's surprise, Smoke has managed to defeat Regordete in last weekend's Cujo's Tournamant Ladder, breaking Reg's long string of victories. This has been the second tournament held by Nichiren since Cujo's left the game. Cujo's legacy lives on!

Patch :: New in-game maps!
Next time you play, the automatic patching system will download a new in-game map for Market Island as well as updated maps for all main islands and cities. The updated maps contain more information that should help players find interesting landmarks such as portals, dungeons, monsters hot spot and NPCs.

All Servers :: Portals to Battleground Opened On Market Island!
Because of the current increase in popularity for tournaments, Aelia, the Master Trainer of The Military Academy of Goldmoon, has asked Glyan, Archmage of The Alliance of Arcane Knowledge, to summon forth portals to the Battlezone on Market Island. (There is a portal to Market Island in each town.)

The Battleground, once restricted to denizens of Stoneheim only, is a unrestricted combat zone (full PvP) where anyone can participate in combat with other players even if they have chosen to abstain from such activities normally (i.e. if they have PvP off.)

Bug :: Lost Stats Points
We are aware that many players have suffered mysterious losses in their character's stats points. We do not know yet what happened to cause such a bug but we are hard a work investigating this matter.

All player who have experienced this bug: please help us solve this problem and fix your character(s) by filling a detailed bug report. Make sure to include the following information, if possible:

• The date and time you experienced this loss (or when you noticed it).
• What were your losses.
• What you expect your stats should be right now.

We expect to have a lot of requests, so we ask players to be patient as it could take some time before we process all bug reports.

The first edition of the Team Mortal Wars will be held this Saturday April 13 at 8:00 PM EST
(GMT -05:00). You are invited to build up a team and choose a TeamLeader among your team members. Your team can contain as many members as you wish but the combination of their lvls must NOT exceed 300! As in chess, the ultimate goal will not be to kill the entire opponent team but to Eliminate the TeamLeader.

New Guilds!
Ogrimar, the god of terror and chaos, will be pleased by the three new guilds that have been added to the website today!

Ascent

• The Chaos Guild and its unusual "-" tag is unique among guilds as it allows players from other guilds to join it. It is in fact a loose organization of players playing under a different (more extreme) set of PvP rules than the rest of the server. Members will be free to fight with each other as often as they like without interfering with those who do not wish to participate.
• The Archangels Of Destruction (AoD) may be a young guild, but it is already (in)famous all across the land! These dark angels are powerful and have chaos on their mind…

Equinox

• The Guardians of Ogrimar's Temple of Pain (GOT) aim to promote and uphold Ogrimar's glory by forming a small group of specially selected individuals who have proven their dedication to Ogrimar and his cause.

King and Queen of PvP tournament
Archknight-AoD's event will be held in Windhowl this Friday at 7 pm EST (GMT-5). The fighting will be divided between Archers, Warriors and Mages and the finalist of each class will battle it out between each others to decide who'll get the first prize of 1 million gold!

New Community Managers
We have recently added and promoted many players in our Community Managers team on both servers. They are all very motivated in making the game even more pleasurable to all by making new events and moderating the game.

• Trom and Greyjoy TNG have been promoted to Storyteller status. They both have done a wonderful job as Moderator and they have wonderful plans for upcoming events.
• Valeria BA, Ascent's famous Cookie Queen, brings her ever watchful eyes and ears to the Moderators team. Miscreants beware! ;)

Equinox

• Lady Xarelle and Serra have been promoted Master Storytellers thanks to their great work as Storytellers. They now have even more means to make even more awesome events.
• Slug II and Thaddius PORT are now Storytellers, thanks to their fantastic roleplay and involvement in the community.

Server Problems Fixed
Many of you may have experiences strange problems in the last few days, from "Page Cannot Be Displayed" bugs on the website to being prevented from playing because of "Your IP has been blocked" and "Server Full" problems.

All these problems were caused by a malfunction of the server that has been fixed. All should be back to normal. If you encounter such problems again, please let us know! ;)

A Farewell to Cujo
The realms have been thrown into disarray by Cujo's sudden and unexpected departure in order to better pursue his scholarly endeavours. This means not only that a player loved by all has left our midst, but also that the weekly Tournament Ladder Championship has lost its leader. Who will take Cujo's mantle now?

Update :: Speaking of PvP…
We have added the following rule regarding PvP abuse in the Rules of Conduct in order to let players fight repeatedly a player on a rampage but without abusing this right:

• Killing sprees and multiple kills: If a player attacks or kills someone, he loses his accumulated rights to be protected from PvP abuse as if he was never attacked that day. So, if someone has killed someone else, he can then be attacked again by another player who had already killed him/her without his agreement.

Guidelines on honourable PvP
PvP (Players vs Player combat) is a very delicate subject and it is easy to make enemies when abusing it. With the increasing interest in Tournaments of all kind on our servers, people are more and more turning their PvP toggle ON and joining the fun. But some players get carried away and either break the Rules of Conduct or use despicable tactics, turning everyone against them and risking severe punishment.

Kyla, T4P Storyteller and great queen of PvP on Ascent, has recently posted a wonderful text describing in detail her views on PvP and how to hunt and kill other players with honor and respect. We strongly suggest any player interested in PvP to read this post and follow Kyla's code of honor as their own when dealing with PvP - regardless of their alignment or which server they play on. That way, PvP will stay fun for everyone!

This weekend's tournaments results
The news page is looking more and more like a sports column nowadays with all these tournaments going on…

• Cujo's Tournament Ladder (every Sunday at 5pm EST)is still dominated by Regordete followed by Cujo, both of them for 4 weeks in a row!
  These guys are starting to look mighty comfortable at the top. I hope if they ever get replaced that they won't leave too many old socks and dirty dishes behind them... ;)
  Also, the popularity of this weekly event has grown so much that it took 3 hours to complete all fights!

• Tynarg's Ongoing Tournament is going strong with Marc as tournament winner but in second place in the overall rankings at 200 points and Regordete is still #1 at 240 points.
  The rules have also been updated to allow players to concede defeat without having to show up.

• Keiro's 24 hours of carnage may not have lasted 24 hours after all, but there certainly was carnage going on to the delight of all attendants! Keiro vows to organize another event and learn from this brave first try. Go for it Keiro! Stonrcrest was not built in one day!

This Saturday, March 16th, The Knights of Artherk's Temple of Faith (KAT) will host a series of events to commemorate their newly formed guild. All are invited!

• 1:00 p.m. EST - a treasure hunt across the green hills and valleys of Arakas under the watchful guidance of Lady Hawke.
• 3:00 p.m. EST - an archery competition hosted by Sir Dartagnan at the field in Windhowl.
• 5:00 p.m. EST - an open banquet will be held on the fields beside the temple in Windhowl. Sakwin, archpriest of Artherk, will swear in those interested and worthy in joining KAT.
• 7:00 p.m. EST - creatures, beasts and monsters from every part of the kingdom will be freed upon those willing to face the challenge in the field in Windhowl.

Tolerance towards newbies
These days, the number of players online is increasing every week as many players are discovering T4P for the first time. This is great as it adds new life to the game but it also means that more inexperimented players ("newbies") are asking questions about basic features of the game or are asking for help.

Also, many players from Ascent are giving Equinox a try since each server has such a different style. These players typically do not have mastered the finer points of the roleplay style Equinox and can easily blunder without knowing it.

We ask that everyone try to be patient with these players. If some players annoy you either by asking too many questions or by their language, just put them in your ignore list so you don't have to read what they say in the game's chat window.

Remember that these things are part of the growth of any online community and the future of T4P depends on making newbies feel welcomed and happy in the game.

Website update
A few adjustments have been made today to the website:

• Improved navigation bar: smaller size to download, should fit in one screen now, forum will now appear in a new page (this fixes the "return" bug when posting in the T4P launcher).
• Removed navigation bar from pages in the secure area.
• Mistakes in the Banners HTML code in Webmasters Stuff have been fixed.

Next weekend, Grashnuhk the Half-Orc, leader of FKA, will hold a 24hrs tournament. The whole 3 islands will be the battlefield, but it will only be allowed to kill players from the same island. It will start at noon EST on Saturday March 2nd and end on noon EST on Sunday March 3rd. It will of course be possible to play and not being attacked if you choose not to take part in the tournament.

Samaritans update
After weeks of evaluation, and thanks to the comments and suggestions of many players, we have come to the following decisions regarding Samaritans:

• There is no longer a gold and XP reward for Samaritans. Instead, we encourage players who have been helped to thanks publicly their Samaritans in the Help! forum.
  This is to ensure that players in the Samaritans are not seeking profit and will give more credibility to the Order.
• The power to teleport themselves to the Lighthaven Temple will be awarded to Samaritans who have already mastered the spell Word of Recall.
  This is to ensure that they can easily help newcomers without having to go through the cost of a teleportation scroll.
• Prospecting Samaritans will have to go through a probation period where their knowledge and behaviour will be monitored by appointed players. Existing Samaritans will also be reviewed in the weeks to come according to the same criteria.
• We ask that all current and prospecting Samaritans to confirm their continued interest in joining the order.

Samaritans are experienced players who enjoy helping other players and they are officially recognized as such.

Two nights ago, the realm was disturbed by the cry for assistance. Khaderan, a powerful hunter, told the tale of how he was robbed by Eshelda while he was asleep. He was robbed, he said of the one item that was closest to his heart, a potion of deific healing. He sounded desperate to get this potion back. He offered a bounty of 25,000 gold to anyone with information on Eshelda.

PvP rules update

• Trying to attack or steal from someone is now considered an agreement to PvP.
  If you have killed someone twice already in a day and that player attacks or steals from you, you are entitled to kill that player again for as long as that player tries to attack or steal from you.
• Nuisances: If a player proves to be a nuisance to the overall community by abusing PvP within the rules, he may still be punished from losing his shouts to serving prison time in the game.
  Please note that the offender will be warned at least once before punitive measures are taken.

The rules of Conduct have been updated today to include impersonating another player as being a forbidden behaviour, as well as impersonating a NPC or a Vircom Employee.
As a minimum penalty, the offending character will be deleted.

Patching problems
By popular demand, we have decided to go back to the version of the game prior to the December 21 patch. This will unlock the F12 key and remove the screenshot feature. This feature will come back in a later patch after it has been fixed.

Some users may experience problems patching.
To get around this problem, simply empty Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files cache.
1) Start Internet Explorer
2) In the Tools menu, select Internet Options
3) In Temporary Internet Files, click on the Delete Files button.
