This is a day or
mourning and I share your dismay and sadness.
When I first got in the T4P bandwagon, I was just an enthousiast
webmaster discovering the fabulous world of MMORPG. Since
then, I have become a full-fledged Game Master and discovered
that I have a place in this world after all as well as a great
and sincere love for all the players involved.
I may not have been able to play a lot with you guys, but
every day it was a thrill to answer my e-mails, tag
the new guild members, read through the forum and write the
news. Every time a guild got bigger, every time a player stood
up and declared he was organising an event by him/herself,
whenever a storyteller weaved a new story, when someone got
help from a Samaritan or a regular player, I was always happy
and proud of my small but strong T4P community and to be part
of it.
Even troublesome players were dear to me. I always
believed that most “trouble” players are usualy players who
were either not in the right place or did not find how to
play their way without hurting others. Ragnakok and
the Chaos Tag was a succes in this as it showed that
many infamous PKs were in fact just people who liked to play
under different rules.
When Ragnakok, our unrestricted PvP server closed months ago,
many were scared of the bloodthirsty barbarians who suddenly
invaded our tame servers, Ascent and Equinox. But behold!
Now many of those are now some of the most influential and
respected players around! PvP in Ascent, once something
feared and despised, has become so entrenched and fun that
hard-core Equinox players have started new players there just
to get the Chaos Tag! Lol!
When T4P first opened, the only events around were the ones
Kenril and I organised – and these were rare indeed!
Now, not a week goes by without some kind of tournament, treasure
hunt or roleplay event. The most surprising thing of all,
there are as many – if not more – events that were organised
by regular players than were by our precious volunteer Storytellers.
Speaking of Storytellers. What a wonderful Community Managers
team we have! I cannot say how much I have appreciate
and value the work of our watchful Moderators and our
awesome Storytellers. Many of them were experienced
GMs from T4C servers and could dance circle around me when
dealing with GM commands. But I always got the fullest respect
from all of them regardless of how much experience I actually
had. This is not something I have taken for granted and it
has always been much apreciated.
I was also much impressed how much the ones that never even
played T4C or any MMORPG before blossomed into some of the
most active and influential storytellers of all. As always,
in this game, surprise is the only constant.
Now I know that I am a Game Master at heart and that managing
a community can be one of the most fulfilling thing I can
do. I hope that with the other Vircom games, such as Black
Moon Chronicles, Dune Generations and Prison,
I will once again work and play with such a great bunch of
people than I did right here in The 4th Prophecy.
PS: Most of you may not have had the pleasure of meeting or
communicating with Kenril, our esteemed Lead Game master.
Even though he always kept a low profile, he has always been
an attentive spectator and involved behind-the-scene in T4P.
I can assure you that he is as sad as any of you of this development
and that he is as proud as me of what we all have managed
to achieve together with T4P.

I see no point in
sugar coating things.
Vircom has screwed up big time.
I and others warned them long ago that their advertising was
horridly inadequate - crying that it was too expensive is
no excuse; if they couldn't afford it, they had no right trying
to start a server in the first place.
Those of us who came here from t4c came for a variety of reasons,
among them: a pure server, no cheatbox, no gm freebies, no
cheating gms, pvp of some form or another, the (mistaken)
belief that if it were run by vircom we wouldn't yet again
find ourselves facing the loss of another server.
I don't believe there is a single t4c server out there which
can come close to offering all these - some cannot offer any
of them.
On every single ?%?$ server I have played, except
(to the best of my knowledge) Ascent on T4P, there has been
significant cheating which has destroyed the game - I have
seen nothing to prove that this is still not the case on ALL
t4c servers out there.
This is the 4th server I've had pull the rug out from under
my feet. There are plenty of other players who have lost more
servers and characters than I.
Vircom has let all these people down big time. Others more
so than I, given that I was probably close to quitting anyway.
My only regret is I didn't get the satisfaction of deleting
my characters before the closure was announced.
This is it for me - I will never again play any version of
t4c/p, nor will I have anything whatsoever to do with any
vircom product in the future.
They simply cannot be trusted.

I absolutely agree
on the advertising bit. I subscribe to two or three gaming
magazines, and I say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on this game. The
only reason I discovered this at all is because of a free
CD I got.
On a different note, I have never played T4c and I'm wondering
whether I should switch to that or go play EQ or something

Albertus,
I would like to hank you and Vircom for sending me the free
CD. This was the first on line game I have played and it was
great.
I do not know where GOF is going or even if we will continue
but it was great. Thanks
I do not about the other servers so it will be hard for me
to decide where we will go but it has been great.

| Take care, Albertus.
You were a great GM, and had a lot to do with the merger of
Ragnarok and Ascent going so smoothly. Good luck with the
writing and art work!

Yea.. Now, i'm back
from my shock..
I'm glad I still can reach you through BMC..
and as i asked tonight, please let the other players test
BMC.. in that case we all can see each other at least in one
games.. I know some of them will go to chaos type server,
some of them will go back to their older server, and some
of them still looking for the server.. I'm sure I will follow
the majority, but i still miss some of the others who choose
the other server..
So, please, please, please let them test BMC..

Hehe, yeah . I remember first meeting Albertus,
the young enthusiastic crossdressing woodsman while out hunting
hehe. Twas my first character and I hadn't yet realized how
to boost my attack lol, so we had a team of players gathering
at Windhowl to fight Brigands (which tore apart my warrior)
while Albertus gave us heals lol.
As stated here, both you and Kenril have been the best GM's
I've yet to see, and I shall miss you both very much if I
dont get end up joining the Blackmoon bandwagon (which hopefully
I shall! ). It was great working with you
as a mod, and watching you two weave your magic as a player
inside the community .
Good luck and have fun to you both

Ditto all the warm
and well deserved words you are getting Albertus. You were
patient, listened well, and tried always to have the best
of the entire community in mind before acting. As the most
visible symbol of Vircom, and as the final law in most cases,
you took much undeserved grief at times, but never let that
move you to strike back personally.
You have been a great GM and a wonderful person to work for.
Hope I continue to run into you.

Final farewell
from Kenril and Albertus, Game Masters
It is now official; the end of The 4th Prophecy also marks
our departure from Vircom. It means that, sadly, we will not
take part in Black Moon Chronicles or in other Vircom products.
Working on T4P and BMC has been a dream come true for both
of us and we are grateful for this experience. You all have
been such a great bunch of players and we will miss you all
terribly!
Your servants,
Kenril and Albertus
PS: You can keep in touch with Albertus through his personal
website at thierry.gagnon.com and with Kenril through Kenril@free.fr.

I hope that all goes well for you in everything my friend.
Thank you for putting up with my sometimes volatile missives
